This piece is a reconstruction of a Mosuo Zumu that was sold to the artist by a Mosuo family from the village of Lijuazie as an exhibition piece in order to promote and spread the principles of matriarchal societies, particularly the threatened Mosuo community. A cross-section of the reconstructed house has been shown together with the audio piece Further Than We’ve Gone (2009).
